Closets, Bedrooms & Basements...Oh my!
Written by: GrowMoBud
So we need something to grow our cannabis in!
Most growers will use something similar to what you see to the right called a grow tent. They allow you to be able to grow in any area of the house (they can be a little noisy), without having to paint or put holes in the walls. These come in a multitude of different shapes and sizes and options. Take your pick on what will work best in your situation.
If you own your home, then the possibilities are endless on what you can do to your space! You can use a spare closet, bedroom, basement area, garage, attic. You just have to keep in mind your areas climate and how you will heat and cool your space.
When constructing your grow space, planning is key. You have to keep in mind:
light leaks
You lights are going to be seriously bright (mini sun remember?) we don't want it leaking out into the rest of the room or out of your house to where pesky neighbors and Karens notice your setup.
Air Flow
To maximize air flow to get rid of stagnant air and replace it with fresh Co2 rich air, you might need to add holes for duct work.
Water source
Where is your closest water source? Your plants are going to need a lot of water over the course of their lives and the more plants you have...you guessed it, the more water that is going to be needed. A 5 gallon bucket can be a pain to have to haul up and down a flight of stairs if your grow is in the basement.
Electricity
When growing indoors your going to need a lot of outlets, to plug in your fans, lights, timers, water reservoirs, cloning machines, ect. everything will need power... So make sure you have outlets that have grounded wiring...last thing you want to do is burn your place down.
Security
You need to make sure your grow space is safe and secure. Is it in a high traffic area in your house? Maybe get a small lock for your tent zipper. Get a new door handle with a lock and key rather than the generic door handle. Or if your mister or misses big bucks, maybe get a finger print door handle.
