The Setup

When it comes to the set up you can go as small as computer desktop case all the way to the entire room. Just take into consideration your space and needs.

The Setup:

So lets talk about what you will need to start growing.

  1. A contained environment (A room, tent or some even use buckets)

  2. A light source (Light bulbs, HID lamps, leds or quantum boards)

  3. Ventilation (Fans to create fresh air exchange(FAE), inline exhaust fans, even open hole to pull in air help)

Of course we will need other things like seeds, soil, water, nutrients, ect.. But our 3 major things are gonna be our environment, lighting and ventilation.

So this all comes down to your needs and budget. You can go as cheap as either converting a closet or a piece of furniture in to your grow space and getting CFLs to light everything...though its not recommend...or you can start converting a space in your basement into a grow room and upgrade to some powerful 650w quantum boards that replace 1000w HID lamps like I've been doing!

Through out these articles I will recommend different options for different budgets along the way.

(If your from Missouri like me, then definitely read this first bit, if not you can skip ahead.)

Missouri law

So you got your medical card and your ready to get your medicine! If your like many in my area its very hard to come by ...dispensaries are having a tough time to meet demand and not to mention the prices are insane!

With just a small investment (I sold my ps4 collection) you can grow your very own medicine!

The next step is applying for your cultivation license!

Head to Mo health website and update your medical card info->"yes" on intend to cultivate medical marijuana.

There is a box where you must describe your security arrangements and procedures.

Per Missouri Cultivation law the following security regulations must be followed:

• All qualifying patient cultivation shall take place in an

enclosed, locked facility that is equipped with security devices

that permit access only by the qualifying patient or by such

patient’s primary caregiver.

• “Enclosed, locked facility” means—

An indoor stationary closet, room, garage, greenhouse, or

other comparable fully enclosed space equipped with locks or

other functioning security devices that permit access to

only the qualifying patient(s) or primary caregiver(s) who have

informed DHSS that this is the space where they will cultivate

marijuana.

• That is equipped with locks or other security devices that

permit access to only the qualifying patient(s) or primary

caregiver(s) who have informed DHSS that this is the space

where they will cultivate marijuana.

• DHSS-issued cultivation authorization shall be clearly displayed

within the enclosed cultivation area and in close proximity to

the marijuana plants. The authorization shall list the name of

the qualifying patient or primary caregiver and the address

of the facility in which that qualifying patient or primary

caregiver is authorized to cultivate marijuana.

You must describe where you are going to have your grow located and the measures you are taking to keep it secure and away from public eye.

Example: My cultivation area would be located in a room in my basement, so it can't be seen from outside. The door to the room has a lock on it and I would be the only person with the key to access the area.

The fee for the cultivation license is a $100, but in the end that's a small fee to pay for the amount of green you will save! Literally!
